Britt Ann Høiskar new Research Director at NILU

Britt Ann Kåstad Høiskar is employed as Research Director at NILU’s Urban Environment and Industry Department (INBY) from June 1, 2017.

Britt Ann started her career at NILU already as a PhD fellow in 1991. After completing her doctorate, she continued as a Senior Researcher at the institute until she applied to the Research Council of Norway in 2007, and later to the Asthma and Allergy Association (NAAF). In 2014 she returned to NILU as Deputy Head of the Urban Environment and Industry Department.

Throughout her work in and outside NILU, she has gained broad knowledge of indoor and outdoor air quality assessment. Britt Ann has solid and relevant experience as project manager and has participated in several EU projects.

In recent years, Britt Ann has worked on air quality measurements for Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen and Drammen. She is also involved in the work of assessing the effect of “Oslopakke 3” on local air quality in Oslo.

Britt Ann is a graduate engineer from NTNU, and holds a doctorate in physics from the University of Oslo. She takes over the Research Director position after Leonor Tarrasón, who will start in a newly created position as Marketing Director for Environmental Solutions at NILU from the same date.
