Elisabeth Maråk Støle (Master of Business Studies/’Siviløkonom’) has been elected as a new board member of NILU from 1 July 2023.
Elisabeth Maråk Støle is CEO of Seagems Group AS. She has a broad background from e.g. 20 years in international business and from the institute sector, i.a. as CEO of NORCE Norwegian Research Center AS (2018-2021) and as CEO for Møreforsking (2013-2018). Støle also has extensive experience from several board positions. She currently is on the board of the Folketrygdfondet and on the Research Council’s portfolio board for energy, transport and low emissions, among other things.

She brings with her extensive experience and knowledge of the institutes’ prerequisites and Norway’s and the EU’s research and innovation system. NILU has laid out a strategy that will bring significant changes in the coming years, and Elisabeth’s insights will be very valuable to us”, says John Rune Nielsen, CEO of NILU.
NILU’s board members are selected by an election committee consisting of one member from the Ministry of Climate and the Environment, one from the Research Council and one from the business community.
