NILU’s board has decided to appoint Tomas Nordlander as NILU’s new CEO from 1 May 2024.

Originally from Gothenburg, Sweden, Nordlander has for the past 16 years been engaged in research and research management in Norway. He has worked at well-known Norwegian research institutions such as SINTEF and IFE, and has a strong background in leadership, research, and commercial understanding. Before focusing on research, Nordlander worked in the IT sector in Sweden. He also has broad entrepreneurial experience, having started and run companies in Sweden, Ireland, and Germany.
Tomas Nordlander holds board positions in research and technology companies, and has an extensive network in Norway within academia, the business community, and politics.
“I am very excited about the opportunity to contribute to NILU, a respected institution conducting research of significant societal importance”, he says.
