Environmental and carbon footprints

We offer tools and services to support assessment of environmental impacts and footprints of products, processes, and services.

The accepted methods for data-driven sustainability evaluations are Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and environmentally extended input output analysis (EE-IO). We use these methods, individually and together, and integrate them into large and dedicated modelling frameworks.

To evaluate scenarios, including supply chain and physical climate risk and adaptation scenarios, we link our research to supply chain data from life-cycle inventories and input-output accounts to satellite observations and macroeconomic models (for example, CGE – Computable General Equilibrium models) , at high spatial and temporal resolution.

For supply chain transparency of products and processes we offer:

  • Scope 3 footprint accounting
  • Prospective evaluation for the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)
  • Environmental Product Declarations (EPD aligned with ISO 14025)
  • Product Environmental Footprint (PEF)
  • Life-Cycle Assessment, aligned with ISO 14040 and 14044)

For scientific research projects we offer competency in coupling supply chain tools at product and economy level (LCA, EXIOBASE, FIGARO, GLORIA, Eora, etc.) to technical process design models, dynamic economic models and empirical satellite and sensor data.

For organizations we support navigation of the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and Norwegian Transparency Act (forbrukertilsynet åpenhetsloven).
