NILU Climate and Environment Institute AB’s mission is to use systems analysis and life cycle perspectives to translate measurement data into decision support that enables resilient transformation.
Together we possess extensive expertise that spans various sectors, including industry, research institutions, and the public sector.
Strategic Focus Areas
NILU AB’s strategic areas are directed toward business development and systems integration, R&I (Research and Innovation), governance, policy, strategy, and transition management.
A key focus is supporting climate-neutral and sustainable cities and regions through mission-driven collaboration that unites the public sector, business, academia, and civil society, including work with green finance.
Furthermore, NILU AB is dedicated to developing research and practices in the Societal and Security Domain, particularly in Resilience & Total Defense. We lead initiatives focused on securing resource-efficient and non-toxic value chains as part of the shift towards a circular economy:
- Life-cycle system assessment (LCA / LCM / SLCA / LCC)
- Circular economy (resource efficiency / value chain / time / cooperation)
- Sustainable resilience and preparedness for business and society
- Transition management policy and multi-level governance
In addition, we have support from our Norwegian owner company, and collaborate closely with them on assignments that require other forms of expertise – for example regarding environmental chemistry and local air pollution.
