Reporting air quality in Dakar, Senegal. NILU OR
The Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU) has developed the air quality monitoring and management programme for Dakar, Senegal. Part of this project involves the development of templates for reporting of the air quality based on measurements of air pollution and meteorology. This example of reporting procedures is strictly limited to the reporting of measurement results. Templates are presented for:
¿ Daily and weekly reports
¿ Monthly data reports
¿ Quarterly assessment reports
¿ Annual ¿State of the environment¿ report.
The templates indicate typical content with different examples of presentations, air quality statistics and figures and tables prepared in order to assess the air quality in Dakar. Similar procedures are being used by different authorities worldwide.

Quality manual. NILU OR
This report presents all relevant topics to be known and quality requirements to be fulfilled in order to successfully manage an air quality measurement network and its references laboratory.
It encompasses all aspects of quality control and provides a full documentation system as well as methods to achieve the generation of quality data.
It gathers detailed standard operational procedures together with relevant reporting documents aimed at ensuring a long term satisfying performance of the network instruments installed in Dakar.

Deposition of air pollutants around the North Sea and the North-East Atlantic in 2008. NILU OR
This reports summarises the observations of the deposition of pollutants from the atmosphere to the North Sea area during 2008. Priority is given to the metals arsenic, cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, mercury, nickel, and zinc, the organic pollutant lindane, and to oxidised and reduced forms of nitrogen. A number of voluntarily monitored pollutants are also reported by North Sea countries. As well as providing rates of deposition observed in 2008, the report summarises the temporal trends in deposition of lead, cadmium, mercury and PCB's.

Urban air pollution 2000-2015. Results from monitoring and modeling in Oslo and Trondheim. NILU OR
The expected changes in emission profiles for vehicular traffic has been investigated by Ecotraffic on behalf of Statoil. This report gives a trend analysis of monitoring and model results for air quality in Oslo and Trondheim. The period covered is 2000 to 2015, the last third of the period is covered only by modelling. The impact of introduction of bio fuel have been reflected upon, based on the changes in emission profiles given by Ecotraffic. For particulate matter, the introduction of bio fuels will likely contribute to a continuous reduction of ambient air concentrations. For NOX and NO2, introduction of bio fuel will have an adverse effect, and the urban air pollution level of NO2 is no longer decreasing.

Air quality web portal in Dakar. Operational and editoral procedures. NILU OR
The current report presents the operational and editorial procedures for the Air Quality Web portal in Dakar, operated by the Centre de Gestion de la Qualité de l¿Air de Dakar (CGQA). The procedure to set up the Air Quality Index (AQI) in AirQUIS is described and illustrated in Annexe A. In Annexe B a short description of how AirQUIS calculates the AQI for the different measurement station types is given, as well as the procedure CGQA has to follow to determine the AQI for the whole Dakar city to be presented daily on the Air Quality Web portal. The operational and editorial procedures for the Air Quality Web portal in Dakar have been described by Aminata Diokhane, under supervision of NILU and validated by NILU.

A review committee was established to examine the Phase II ExSIRA Part A project proposal. The committee consisted of 3 experts in the field. Each expert carefully reviewed background material (including Phase I reports) and the Part A project description; based on this work, each expert wrote an individual review. These individual reviews were used to create a consensus review for the committee in which this report is based upon.
The consensus review states that the project description as proposed is feasible and that the project team is competent to perform these investigations. However, one major comment from the committee is the consistent lack of detail regarding the study design and specific methods to be utilized. The committee recommends that this detail be documented at some point before experiments are conducted. The committee also identified a total of 11 specific comments and recommendations throughout the 4 tasks for the project ¿ many of these comments should be addressed before the project is funded.
