HENVINET. Second annual review of research and best practice. NILU OR

Yang, A.; Bartonova, A. (eds.)

The aim of this report is to present an overview of the framework for assessment of knowledge quality and identification of knowledge gaps within the HENVINET project. The focus is on four priority health end points as defined in the European Health Action Plan (EHAP); asthma and allergies, cancer, neurodevelopmental disorders and endocrine disruptors. This report is structured into two parts, where Part A introduces the HENVINET methodology, and Part B gives an example of how it is implemented through the different steps. The available results are furthermore presented in the Annexes.

HENVINET. Evaluation questionnaire - causal chain for nanoparticles. NILU TR

Rahman, Q.; Smita, S.; Gupta S.K. Ed. by Yang, A.; Bartonova, A.

The HENVINET consortium has developed a questionnaire to identify knowledge gaps in the state of the art in scientific knowledge. Literature reviews covered all elements that compose the causal chain of the different environmental health issues from emissions to exposures, to effects and to health impacts. Ultimately, the aim is to discuss the implications of these for policy and research.

In this evaluation we focus on effect of nanoparticles on various environmental processes and their impact on human health. The questionnaire consists of two separate parts. In Part A, you will be asked to comment on the completeness and structure of a diagram illustrating our current understanding of the cause-effect relationship of intentional and unintentional nanoparticles on environment and their subsequent impact on human health. In Part B, you will be asked to express your level of confidence in scientists' ability to predict the magnitude of a disease burden that is expected to occeur as a result of release of nanoparticles in the environment.

HENVINET. Evaluation questionnaire - causal chain for phthalates. NILU TR

Zimmer, K.E.,Gutleb, A.C.; Ravnum, S.; Murk, A.J.; Lyche, J.L.; Koppe, J.G. Ed. by Yang, A.; Bartonova, A.

In this evaluation we focus on the cause¿effect relationship between phthalates in the environment and endocrine disruption in humans. The questionnaire consists of two separate parts. In Part A, you will be asked to comments on the completeness and structure of a diagram illustrating our current understanding of the cause¿effect relationship. In Part B, you will be asked
to express your level of confidence in the scientists¿ ability to predict the magnitude of a variety of effects of phthalates in the environment.

HENVINET. Evaluation questionnaire - causal chain for cancer. NILU TR

Fucic, A.; Merlo D.F. Ed. by Yang, A.; Bartonova, A.

In this evaluation we focus on various aspects of the cause¿effect relationship between our living environment and increased risk of cancer development. Occupational exposure to carcinogens is not included. Six cancer types are considered; brain cancer, breast tumors, colorectal tumors, leukemia, lung mesothelioma and melanoma.

HENVINET. Evaluation questionnaire - traffic pollution and environmental health. NILU TR

Forsberg, B.; Bråbäck, L. Ed. by Yang, A.; Bartonova, A.

In this evaluation we focus on various aspects of the cause¿effect relationship between traffic related air pollutants in ambient air and induction (incidence) of asthma and sensitization to allergens. The questionnaire consists of two separate parts. In Part A, you will be asked to comment on the completeness and structure of the causal diagram illustrating scientists¿ current
understanding of the cause¿effect relationship. In Part B, you will be asked to express your confidence in scientists¿ ability to predict the magnitude of a variety of proposed or potential associations.

HENVINET. Evaluation questionnaire - causal chain for chlorpyrifos. NILU TR

Magnanti, B.L.; Carreira, S.C.; Saunders, M.S. Ed. by Yang, A.; Bartonova, A.

In this evaluation we focus on various aspects of the cause¿effect relationship between chlorpyrifos and the potential impact on neurodevelopment . The questionnaire consists of two separate parts. In Part A, you will be asked to look at parts of the causal chain diagram and answer questions about your level of confidence in the ability of science to predict various aspects
of health risk. In Part B, you will be asked to comment on the completeness and structure of the causal diagram.

Description of a measurement campaign for the development and validation of a non-exhaust PM traffic emisson model. NILU OR

Denby, B.; Yttri, K.E.; Larssen, S.; Fiebig, M.; Hak, C.; Berger, J. Tørnkvist, K.

This document describes a measurement campaign intended to provide data for the further development and assessment of non-exhaust emissions and the models used to describe them.

2010

Monitoring of the atmospheric ozone layer and natural ultraviolet radiation. Annual report 2009. NILU OR

Myhre, C.L.; Edvardsen, K.; Stebel, K.; Svendby, T.M.; Engelsen, O.; Johnsrud, M.; Dahlback, A.

2010

Storage and reporting of odd samples. NILU OR

Knudsen, S.; Narayansamy, M.

The report gives recommendation on the storage and the reporting of measurements from odd samples. It is important that the report contains the measurements and description of the measurements for later use. A recommendation for storing the measurements is making a simple database with a library function. The library function will give the path to samples with given key words and where to find them.
