Review of ambient air quality monitoring programme in Poland. NILU OR
The Norwegian Institute for Air Research - NILU and the Chief Inspectorate of Environmental Protection - GIO¿ are implementing the project : 'Strengthening the air quality assessment system in Poland, based on Norwegian experience' as part of the programme ¿Improving Environmental Monitoring and Inspection¿ within the framework of the European Economic Area 2009-2014.
A part of this project is to review the existing ambient air quality monitoring programme in operation in Poland based upon the report prepared by GIOS: ¿Information on monitoring equipment used in Voivodeship networks within the National Environmental Monitoring and supplementary data providing grounds for network equipment analyses¿.
The NILU assessment confirms the needs described by GIOS to carry out an intensive monitoring of air quality, especially as regards PM10, PM2.5, benzo(a)pyrene and ozone. NILU advices GIOS to include the modelling results when evaluating the needs for expanding the network for ozone.NILU recommends to evaluate the needs for further stations in relation to securing the data capture rate as requested by the EU Directive.
In general, NILU advices GIOS towards having a more robust network that meets the Directive requirements regarding data coverage and ensures enough information for the WIOSs to do assessment and planning.

Air quality zone delimitation in Norway. Evaluation and delimitation proposal. NILU OR
An evaluation of the air quality in Norway over the last five years has been performed to set up the basis for a new Air Quality zone (AQ-zone) delimitation for reporting to European Commission concerning compliance of air quality directives. Air pollution levels (i.e. PM10, NO2, SO2, CO, O3, benzene, heavy metals, B(a)P) have been assessed regarding exceedances of limit values, target values, Norwegian national targets, and upper/lower assessment thresholds (UAT/LAT) defined for the protection of human health, vegetation and/or natural ecosystems. The results from this evaluation complemented with information regarding background concentration levels in Norway have been used to define a new delimitation: 1) AQ-zone delimitation for PM10, NO2, NOx, benzene and B(a)P, 2) AQ-zone delimitation for SO2 and heavy metals, 3) AQ-zone delimitation for ozone and 4) AQ-zone delimitation for CO.

Monitoring of greenhouse gases and aerosols at Svalbard and Birkenes: Annual report 2011. NILU OR
The report summaries the activities and results of the greenhouse gas monitoring at the Zeppelin and observatory situated on Svalbard in Arctic Norway during the period 2001-2011 and the greenhouse gas monitoring and aerosol observations from Birkenes for 2011.
The monitoring programme is performed by the NILU - Norwegian Institute for Air Research and funded by the Norwegian Pollution Control Authority (SFT) (now Climate and Pollution Agency) and NILU - Norwegian Institute for Air Research.

Abu Dhabi Ports Company has procured two fixed Air Quality Monitoring Stations, one situated in Area A of KIZAD outside of the ADPC Site HQ building (ADPC Site Office station) with the other in Khalifa Port (ADPC Port station) adjacent to the EMAL conveyer. NILU UAE commissioned these two sites in December 2012 and has been operating them since then. The results presented in this report have been based upon air quality and meteorological data collected from these two fixed Air Quality Monitoring stations during the reported month.
