Measurement of air quality in exhibition and storage rooms at Wawel Royal Castle, Krakow, Poland. NILU OR

Dahlin, E.; Grøntoft, T.

The report is part of the project ¿Development of a showcase for a safe display of silk banners¿ (ENVISILK). which was funded by the Cultural Exchange Fund within the framework of EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism, through a financial agreement with the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland.
The report presents the methodology used and the results from examination of the environmental conditions in the exhibition and storage rooms for the silk banners at the Wawel Royal Castle in Krakow. In addition it presents guidelines for the best possible design for a protective showcase with optimal environment for display and storage of the silk banners.

Measurement data. July 2010 - June 2011. Environmental monitoring of emissions to air from Snøhvit-Hammerfest LNG. NILU OR

Hak, C.

Statoil assigned NILU - Norwegian Institute for Air Research to carry out a programme on "Environmental monitoring of emissions to air from the Snøhvit LNG facility". The project started on 1 February 2006. This report summarises the results of the measurement programme from 1 July 2010 to 30 June 2011. It involves the measurement of meteorological parameters on Melkøya and Fuglenesodden. Air quality parameters were measured at Fuglenesodden and Forsøl. Precipitation samples taken at Forsøl and Kargeneset were analysed for PAHs, inorganic ions, heavy metals and mercury. The current air quality standards are usually met. PM10 filter samples showed three exceedances of the air quality criteria recommended by Klif.

Dispersion calculations Toten Metall AS. NILU OR

Haugsbakk, I.; Tønnesen, D.

Stack height calculatoons have been carried out for emissions from a facility for metal refinery to avoid smoke plume at nearby road. Minimum stack height is calculated to 28 meters above ground level with input presented in this report.

Air quality impact assessment, Kinyerezi, Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. NILU OR

Sivertsen, B.; Castell-Balaguer, N.

Concentrations of air pollutants from the 150MW Jacobsen Electro power plant planned for the Kinyerezi area near Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania has been estimated using two different dispersion models. The estimated annual average contribution to the ground level concentrations of NO2, SO2 , PM and CO is negligible compared to international and national standards. Only the highest one hour average concentrations may be of some concern.
The estimated absolute maximum hourly ground level concentrations of NO2 from the 150 MW gas fired power plant was found within about 2 to 3 km from the power plant. The maximum ground level concentration might reach 11 µg/m3 during very special meteorological conditions and wind from west.
Contributions to the ground level NO2 concentrations from the 150 MW power plant operated with Jet A1 liquid fuel is somewhat higher. It, however, never seems to exceed 32 µg/m3 (NOx as NO2) as a one hour average maximum concentration.
Over the city of Dar Es Salaam, about 15 km east of the plant site, the two plants will contribute during maximum conditions to about 12 to 20 µg/m3 NO2 .
The green house gas (GHG as CO2 equivalents) emissions will be less than 1 % of the present national emissions of GHG in Tanzania.

Randall, S.

Section 6.1 of the contract (BGD-3125 BGD-091066) between NORAD and NILU regarding Institutional Cooperation with the Bangladesh Ministry of Environment and Forest/Department of Environment (DOE) states that a progress report should be submitted semi-annually to NORAD. This report highlights the status of the project for the first six months of the project, August 2010 -January 2011. The project can be considered in good standing, with no major issues or deviations to report.
