Air quality in Hamar. Monitoring program December 2010 - June 2011. NILU OR

Tønnesen, D.; Berglen, T.F.

NILU has carried out monitoring of air quality in the center of Hamar from December 2010 till May 2011. The results have been compared to corresponding measurements at Lillehammer. The level of NO2 is lower and the level of PM10 is higher at Hamar, compared to Lillehammer. The limit value for number of days with PM10 above 50 µg/m3 is probably exceeded in the center of Hamar.

Calculation of dispersion and deposition, April 2010 - April 2011. NILU OR

Gjerstad, K.I.

NILU - Norwegian Institute for Air Research has calculated concentrations of NO2, SO2, and PM10 resulting from emissions from Hammerfest LNG and related shipping. Also emissions deposition of nitrogen and sulphur have been calculated. Calculations show that concentrations of NO2 may exceed the thresholds recommended by the Norwegian State Pollution Agency, but not the EU limit values nor National target values. There are no exceedances of SO2 or PM10 limit values. Calculations give a maximum yearly deposition of 14 mg N /m2 and 11 mg S /m2.

BAPMAN Mission 4: Project planning and further AQ screening. 18-23 February 2012, Dhaka, Bangladesh. NILU OR

Randall, S.; Sivertsen, B.

The Bangladesh Air Pollution Management (BAPMAN) project is an institutional-building project where NILU lends the necessary Air Quality Management (AQM) tools and associated training to the Clean Air and Sustainable Environment (CASE) program at the Department of Environment (DoE). Mission 4 of the BAPMAN project occurred in Dhaka from 18-23 February 2012 where the target of the mission was to hold project planning meetings for administration of the project and to establish future missions to Dhaka and trainings at NILU in Norway, especially for the beginning of Task 2 (CAMS training). In addition, field data was collected on PM levels, traffic density flow estimates, and SO2 concentrations from select brick kilns using a UV camera.

Ambient air quality in Abu Dhabi. 2011 annual report. NILU OR

El-Araby, T.

This Annual Report has been based on data from ten air quality monitoring stations operated in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi during 2011. The data have been ¿cleaned¿ and prepared as a basis for the statistics presented in this report. Air pollution in Abu Dhabi is dominated by suspended particles in the air. One of the main sources is linked to dust from the desert areas and to the occurrence of sand storms. Air Quality limit values for PM10 were exceeded at all monitoring sites in Abu Dhabi in 2011.
Limit values for 8-hour average ozone concentrations were also exceeded at all stations. Limit values for SO2, NO2 and CO were not exceeded in Abu Dhabi Emirate during 2011.
