Sub-grid variability and its impact on air quality exposure assessment. NATO science for peace and security series C: Environmental security, 4
2012
Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU), Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) and the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA) have concidered the effects on the environment of emissions of NOx, SO2 and particulate matter into the air from any future petroleum activity in Barents-sea. It is estimated deposition of nitrogen, sulfur and particulates - also formation of ozone is calculated. It is also considered what effect it has on nature. Calculations indicate that emissions most likely will not lead to negative effects on vegetation and fauna of the terrestrial impact area.

Dispersion calculations Toten Metall AS. NILU OR
Stack height calculatoons have been carried out for emissions from a facility for metal refinery to avoid smoke plume at nearby road. Minimum stack height is calculated to 28 meters above ground level with input presented in this report.

SK-1401 Mongstad. Dispersion calculations. NILU OR
Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU) has performed dispersion calculations of emissions to air from stack SK-1401 at Mongstad refinery. Dispersion of CO2 and SO2 is calculated and analyzed. NILU has also evaluated the calculated concentrations from a HSE point of view, including life time/degradation of the components. The calculated concentrations have been added to existing background concentrations at Mongstad and the calculated total concentrations have been compared to air quality guidelines and threshold values. The defined Worst Case emission scenario exeeds the air quality limit for hourly concentrations of SO2. An alternative emission arrangement have been calculated, and this emission scenario does not exeed the air qualyi limit.
