We analysed biological samples from the terrestrial and urban environment for various inorganic and organic contaminants in the Oslo area. A foodchain approach was used, in order to detect bioaccumulation of the different compounds. The species analysed were earthworms, fieldfare, sparrowhawk, rats, tawny owl and red fox. Soil samples were also included in the study.

The concentrations of the measured components are generally low and below national limit values for the protection of human health and critical levels for the protection of vegetation.
Wind from northern sectors gave the highest average concentrations of nitrogen oxides, which indicates the power station and the harbour as possible sources. From September 2014 to February 2015, volcanic eruptions at Iceland emitted large volumes of SO2, which gave episodes of elevated concentrations in Ny-Ålesund. The measurement results for CO2 show an annual variation with higher concentrations in the winter and lower in summer. Measured concentrations of CO were most likely caused by local snowmobile traffic and long-range transport of emissions from wildfires in North America.

This document is a technical description of the CITI-SENSE main products described in the CITI-SENSE portfolio of products. These products were developed, extended or adjusted in the CITI-SENSE project to fulfil and maintain the overall chain «sensor-platform-products-user» with primary focus on the interface and link between the products and the end users.

Products are described from a developer¿s view and include information about the case studies and their requirements, technical description of architecture, code structures and database and storage platforms. Information about current status as of June 30 2016, with suggested improvements and lessons learned during the project process, are included for each product.
