Stiftelsen NILU is managed by a Board of Directors and a Managing Director. The Board of Directors is the foundation’s highest body with general responsibility for and authority in the foundation.
NILU’s board members are elected by a nomination committee. The nomination committee consists of one member from the Ministry of Climate and Environment, one from the Norwegian Research Council and one from the business community.
About the Board’s work
NILU’s Board of Directors is appointed in such a way that they should be able to contribute knowledge and networks for NILU’s benefit. Otherwise, the board’s main task is to ensure that the management follows and fulfills NILU’s statutes (in Norwegian only).
Other selected board tasks are to encourage collaboration with other research institutions, follow up the strategic work, and to approve action plans, financial frameworks and budgets.
